On Pinterest and on others’ blogs lately, I’ve been seeing so many pictures of Coachella and boho-inspired outfits. So in the spirit of my festival season, (my favorite time of year!) I’ve decided to share with you all how to make your very own flower crown! And the best part? This cost me less than $3 to make!
What You’ll Need:
I got these fake flowers at Wal-Mart for $2.97 total! This is a very budget friendly craft, and so cute! You can use any kind of fake flowers you like. I chose larger ones, but if you’d like a more subtle statement there’s so many varieties available! Check out your local craft stores for more options too! You can find elastic there as well if you don’t have any lying around like I did π
Let’s Get Started!
Remove the flowers from the stems Mine pulled off fairly easily, but some may be more difficult and require scissors. I chose to also remove and use the leaves that came on the stems for a little variety.
Take the elastic and tie it around your head. Don’t tie it too tightly, leave a little wiggle room! You don’t want to cut off circulation haha. But also make sure that it’s not too loose so it’ll easily stay on your head.
Lay out the flowers how you like them around the band before attaching them so you’ll have an idea to work from. Don’t be afraid to change it up as you go though! I put my largest and brightest one in the middle, then alternated the leaves and carnations going around the sides.
Now for the sewing! Thread your needle and slide it through the little thin plastic tubes where the flower or leaf attached to the stem. Putting it through this part is easier than trying to force it through the thicker middles of the flowers, and it looks the same once they’re attached. Continue around, attaching as many flowers or leaves as you’d like! I chose to only cover it halfway, but if you are using smaller flowers you may want to circle the whole thing. You can also space them further apart, and do lots of different patterns! Don’t be afraid to get creative!
The finished product!
What do you think? Any cheap and easy projects catching your eye lately? Do you like flower crowns for festival season? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for stopping by! Stay tuned for an outfit featuring this project-coming soon! π

This is so cute! I’ve made something similar, but the flowers weren’t very big. Yours looks so much better because you used bigger flowers that cover up most of the band. π

Thanks Brooke! I like the the flowers cover up the band too. I was considering going all the way around, but decided to stick with just some on the front π Have a great day!
