Like The Cool Kids

I loved playing dress-up as a kid, and I still do today! I love to put an outfit on that helps you become someone who would wear that outfit- in other words, I think how we dress can shape how we act. Today I dressed up as a differentย version of me ๐Ÿ™‚

If someone was to ask me to pick on outfit to wear for the rest of my life, it would probably be a black romper. I think rompers are the most versatile pieces! You can wear them by themselves, layer them with tights and a cardigan like I did, and even dress them up with heels and a statement necklace! I love this particular romper, with its sweetheart neckline, cute pattern, and pockets (!!!). Combined with a beanie and boots, it makes me feel like I’m playing dress up as an edgier version of myself.

Romper, Cardigan, Boots, Beanie, Septum Ring

I’ve always loved adding fun details to my outfits, so when I found this septum ring (fake, don’t worry!) in a shop the other day, I thought it would add an edgy touch. The only danger is, I like it so much I kind of think I need one now! What do you think? I really like the cool-girl, ย edgy, street-style vibe it brings, but I think my dad would probably kill me haha! Is it worth the tradeoff? You tell me!

Adding details like the nose ring and the beanie to this outfit definitely helped me channel my inner cool-girl (well, maybe she’s in there somewhere, buried deep down!) What do you put on to dress up as a different version of you? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for stopping by ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. I love this outfit! Can’t imagine wearing it this time of year (even though it has yet to really snow in Canada…)
That beanie is absolutely adorable. In terms of the piercing, although I’m not a big fan it’s entirely up to you! At least with piercings you can let them heal over, unlike tattoos which are much harder to get rid of haha.

  2. Loving the romper & that teal beanie combo hon! You look fab! First I thought you got a new piercing and then read it’s a fake one ๐Ÿ˜‰ I would stick to the fake alternative because you can always take it out ๐Ÿ™‚ But it’s your decision, of course.
Hope you are having a fab month of December girlie!

I like the way you reinvented a would be summer item into something you can wear in colder weather. Looks great! As for the septum ring, you’re rocking it! I’m not sure how painful it would be getting the real thing…so just fake it for now! ^_^
