Travel Bucket List 2016

I love to travel and go to new places. I think that exploring this amazing world that we live in is the best thing anyone can do! By coming into contact with new people and places, we broaden our horizons. So that’s why I’m so excited to be able to share with you my list of places I’ll be traveling to in 2016! From Central America to the wild wild West, to very close to home, I have lots of exciting things planned! I can’t wait to hear where you’ll be going too πŸ™‚

First let me preface this list by saying that I am very lucky to be given so many opportunities to travel! I can’t express enough how lucky I feel as a 19 year old to be able to visit amazing places like these. But anyway, without further ado!

1) The Wild West!

I’m going to be spending my summer working as a counselor on a giant Boy Scout camp in the Rocky Mountains! I’m a Vermonter who’s never been further west than Minneapolis, so to be traveling approximately 1,861 miles to New Mexico for a summer job is something I’m really looking forward to!

2) The Dominican Republic

I am so excited to be heading to the beautiful Dominican Republic in March. However, this isn’t a vacation! I’m volunteeringΒ with a nonprofit foundation called Wine To Water to help bring clean drinking water to people who can’t access it. We’ll be drilling wells and making water filters to distribute! I hope to make a difference there, even just in my small way. Clean water is such a huge environmental issue, and it’s one I’m passionate about.

3) Climb 3 Adirondack mountains!

I love to hike, and one of my lifelong bucket list items is to climb all 46 of the Adirondack mountains. This year I want to be able to add 3 to my list! They’re all located in upstate New York, so it should be fairly easy haha! Some of the peaks are really quite difficult though. I’ll start off simple!

There’s my travel plans for 2016! Hopefully I’ll get to add some more day trips in as we go through 2016 πŸ™‚ Where are you headed this year? What places have you always wanted to go to?Β Let me know in the comments! Thanks for stopping by πŸ™‚

Love Kiki

  1. Hi can I come with you?! These are amazing!! I really want to head out west! I think the farthest west that I have been is Florida. Which is horrible haha! Such an East Coast problem haha! I hope to make it out there some day!:) I love that you are doing some good in the Dominican Republic! That is seriously so awesome and I wish you all the best!!! You seem passionate so I am sure you are going to love it!

  2. My cousin and her husband went to DR this month and stayed in an all-inclusive hotel in Punta Cana, and had tons of good fun and did all these fun activities. That’s amazing how you are volunteering, you have a big heart! Clean water is essential not only to the environment but to individuals, without it our immune systems would be more compromised. I’m probably not going anywhere this year because I’m saving up for my wedding next year and we are thinking of going to Mexico for our honeymoon!

Wow that’s so cool! These are amazing opportunities and I hope you enjoy them! I have so many places I would love to go to and hopefully this year I can cross a few of them off just by putting myself out there with volunteering and stuff. Can’t wait to hear about your experiences πŸ™‚

  5. This year I would like to go to Northern Spain and drive around exploring the beaches and little villages. I’d also love to finally go to Scandinavia, which has been on my travel bucket list for ages. The trips I’m highly likely to do are around the UK, like go to Scotland or North Wales hiking and a yoga retreat either in Cornwall or in Italy.

This is awesome! I would love to go to the Rockies one day. I love the mountains. It looks like you’ve got a great year of traveling planned out. I just came back from a trip to Canada earlier this month, in the summer I’m headed back to Canada, and then I might be going to Florida, then either Hawaii or Canada. Nothing tooooo exciting!

    3) The natural Pink lake in Esperance, West Australia.

Hopefully it all goes well and you have my best wishes too! Let’s work towards it because 2016 is ending in no time! Okay, just joking, it’s just January x
